Article Abstract

The results of treatment of 801 patients are analysed. It is shown that the probability of growth and the development of new adenomas or a recurrence of the disease is higher in patients with multiple small polyps and in their combination with larger structures. Therefore, all multiple structures in the colon, irrespective of their size, must be removed endoscopically without fail and the patients kept under dynamic control subsequently. Solitary small polyps show no tendency to grow, in view of which the therapeutic tactics in such cases should be individualized and determined by the histological structure of the growth themselves and the character of the changes in the colon.
