Background: Metastatic castration resistance prostate cancer (mCRPC) is a challenging disease with a significant burden of mortality and morbidity. Most of the patients attain resistance to the available treatments, necessitating further novel therapies in this clinical setting. Actinium 225 (Ac) prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) radioligand therapy has emerged as a promising option and has been utilized for the last decade.

Background: Lymph node upstaging represents a quality criterion for standardized lymphadenectomy in lung cancer surgery. The aim of the study was to compare whether the quality of standardized lymphadenectomy in lung cancer surgery is comparable in minimally invasive (video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery) and the open approach (thoracotomy). Furthermore, factors associated with lymph node upstaging were assessed, as was its impact on overall survival and progression-free survival.

Meta-analysis of the ability of mutational profiles on the cancer genome atlas to predict prognosis in endometrial carcinoma.

Int J Gynaecol Obstet

January 2025

Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, West China Second Hospital, Sichuan University, Chengdu, People's Republic of China.

Background: In 2013, The Cancer Genome Atlas Research Network suggested that endometrial carcinoma patients may be reclassified into four molecular prognostic groups.

Objective: To compare survival of endometrial carcinoma patients with different mutational profiles.

Search Strategy: Studies reporting survival of endometrial carcinoma patients were identified through systematic searches of four databases.

Background: In recent years, many studies have illustrated that the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) is a prognostic factor of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC), but their conclusions are controversial. The aim of this study was to assess the prognostic value of the NLR in patients with mCRPC treated with docetaxel-based chemotherapy.

Methods: Database searches were conducted in PubMed, EMBASE and the Cochrane Library to retrieve relevant published English-language literature up to 20 February 2023.

Background: Even though major improvements have been made in the treatment of myeloma, the majority of patients eventually relapse or progress. Patients with multiple myeloma who relapse after initial high-dose chemotherapy with autologous stem cells have a median progression free survival up to 2-3 years, depending on risk factors such as previous remission duration. In recent years, growing evidence has suggested that allogeneic stem cell transplantation could be a promising treatment option for patients with relapsed or progressed multiple myeloma.
