Objective: To test the effectiveness of a 6-week family-based healthy eating pilot program aimed to reduce obesogenic behaviors among Latino parents and children.

Methods: A 6-week healthy eating pilot program focused on dietary changes within Latino families with a 6- to 13-year-old child. A 1-group, pre-posttest design with 2-month follow-up examining fruit, vegetable, and sugar-sweetened beverage consumption.

Results: The program was effective at increasing parent-report of child fruit consumption, (P < .001, effect size = .26), vegetable consumption, (P = .001, effect size = .20), and decreasing sugar-sweetened beverage consumption, (P = .002, effect size = .16).

Conclusions And Implications: This family-based prevention program was effective at improving healthy eating in Latino families, especially for children. The curriculum can be used in future prevention programs for Latino families with a 6- to 13-year-old child.

Background: Telehealth programs exhibit strong potential to improve health measures and quality of life among obese and overweight individuals for whom medical nutritional therapy remains a challenge due to poor adherence and dietary compliance. Supporting weight-management programs with dietary interventions or "telenutrition" and integrating telemonitoring and/or telehealth coaching have had a significant positive impact on weight-loss patients achieving their goals in long-term interventions.

Methods: The aim of the current study was to identify the factors leading patients to drop out of a telenutrition weight-loss program, including weekly telemonitoring (total of 36 weeks) and monthly telehealth coaching (total of 6 months).

Background Rapid treatment of ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients with primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) significantly reduces morbidity and mortality rates. Recent studies emphasize the importance of reducing total ischemic time, making first-medical-contact-to-balloon (FMCTB) time a key performance indicator. To improve FMCTB times in patients brought to the Emergency Department (ED) by Emergency Medical Services (EMS), we implemented a "Direct to Lab" (DTL) workflow during the following conditions: weekday daytime hours, when the lab is fully staffed, and for hemodynamically stable STEMI patients presenting via EMS.

Background: Protocols instituted for behavioral treatment and skills training programs for the management of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) suffer from lack of collaborative approaches. The tenets of interprofessional collaborative practice (IPCP) focus on preparing a panel of health care professionals (HCPs) from different professions who can work together to enable the common goal of ensuring that children with ASD can participate in society. Background: Children within historically disadvantaged non-Western South African communities are considered as particularly vulnerable to the development of anxiety problems. Although the need for accessible mental health interventions is evident, this need has remained unmet in a country with extreme socio-economic disparities and a lack of mental health resources. Cognitive behavioural therapy-based (CBT-based) interventions that employ brief and intensive delivery methods may overcome existing barriers to access to mental health services faced by many South African children and may ameliorate the burden placed on under-resourced mental health care services.
