, responsible for flea-borne spotted fever, is a rising zoonotic pathogen posing an increasing global threat due to its expanding geographical distribution. The rise in antibiotic-resistant strains of this pathogen underscores the urgent need for new therapeutic interventions. This study employed a comprehensive subtractive proteomics analysis of the proteome, aiming to identify essential, non-host homologous, and pathogen-specific proteins, which were subsequently evaluated as potential new drug targets.

Introduction: A small number of soybean allergens [including Glycinin (11S) and β-Conglycinin (7S)] in the commercially available corn-soybean meal diet can still cause allergy in some weaned piglets, which may be the result of the interaction of genetic, and nutrition, but the specific mechanism is still unclear.
Methods: In this study, 20 allergic piglets and 20 non-allergic piglets were selected from 92 weaned piglets by skin sensitization tests, which were used to examine the whole sequence genome. The indicators related to humoral and cellular immunity, transcriptomics, and metabolomics analysis were determined by randomly selecting 5 boars in the allergic group and non-allergic group and then performing a validation .

Vitamin D is essential for cattle and can be synthesized in the skin under ultraviolet irradiation. This study investigated the effects of narrow-band UV-B irradiation during automatic milking on blood vitamin D concentration and the influence of hair and black skin areas on cutaneous vitamin D synthesis in Holstein Friesian cows. Fifty-one cows were stratified by milk yield, days after calving, and percentage of black skin, then divided into three groups: shaved and irradiated (80 J/m), unshaved and irradiated (129-305 J/m), and a control group.

Tinospora cordifolia extract exhibits diverse benefits-anti-arthritis, anti-malarial, anti-allergic, anti-diabetic, antihepatotoxic, and antipyretic effects. Its specific anti-inflammatory and healing capacities remain unexplored, prompting a study utilizing a mouse skin wound model and direct T. cordifolia extraction.

For noninvasive light-based physiological monitoring, optimal wavelengths of individual tissue components can be identified using absorption spectroscopy. However, because of the lack of sensitivity of hardware at longer wavelengths, absorption spectroscopy has typically been applied for wavelengths in the visible (VIS) and near-infrared (NIR) range from 400 to 1,000 nm. Hardware advancements in the short-wave infrared (SWIR) range have enabled investigators to explore wavelengths in the ~1,000 nm to 3,000 nm range in which fall characteristic absorption peaks for lipid, protein, and water.
