[Immunoglobulins in the serum of puerperae].

Akush Ginekol (Sofiia)

Published: August 1990

Immunoglobulins G, A and M were determined in sera of parturients up to the sixth day after delivery. The study was carried out on 20 parturients, 17 of whom had normal pregnancy and parturition, 2 of whom underwent preterm delivery and one parturient suffered from pre-eclampsia. Immunoglobulins were determined from the first to the sixth day after delivery. The method of determination was immunodiffusion with Tripartagen Behring Institute. The authors established higher level of immunoglobulin G on the sixth day after delivery than immediately after delivery. There were no significant differences in the established ranges of immunoglobulin A. Immunoglobulin M showed higher values in the parturient with pre-eclampsia during pregnancy and this fact deserves further study.
