Background And Aims: Previous studies in lumbar spine surgery have mainly studied functioning and pain by comparing average scores from Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) at different time points. Less is known about these changes in different subgroups. It is self-evident that, while most patients may demonstrate trajectories of these changes close to the average one, some groups may follow more or less different trends.

Background: Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) is characterized by intense central inflammation, leading to substantial post-hemorrhagic complications such as vasospasm and delayed cerebral ischemia. Given the anti-inflammatory effect of transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation (taVNS) and its ability to promote brain plasticity, taVNS has emerged as a promising therapeutic option for SAH patients. However, the effects of taVNS on cardiovascular dynamics in critically ill patients, like those with SAH, have not yet been investigated.

Background: SuperAgers-individuals age 80+ with episodic memory performance at least as good as those 20-30 years younger-provide a unique perspective on cognitive resilience and resistance in aging. The SuperAging Research Initiative (SRI), spearheaded by The University of Chicago and involving multiple academic partners, investigates factors underpinning robust cognitive aging. One key SRI project, leverages a fully remote data collection paradigm to: 1) discern activity patterns that characterize SuperAgers and 2) explore the 'complexity hypothesis in aging'-whether dynamic physiological responsiveness is a hallmark of exceptional cognitive aging.

The debate surrounding the advantages and disadvantages of surgical interventions versus non-operative approaches for femoral neck fractures in older individuals with AD remains a topic of active discussion.
Method: In this retrospective cohort study, the total medical expenses associated with operative and non-operative therapies were compared while adjusting for patients' demographics and baseline health conditions.

Background: The phenotype model of frailty, initially proposed by Fried, is primarily confined to the physical dimension. This study seeks to expand this model by integrating the psychological dimension. We hypothesize that this psychological frailty model is strongly associated with cognitive functional impairment (CFI) in an aging Indian population.
