Objective: This study presents the personal experience of a 19-year-old student who fled the war in Ukraine, journeyed across multiple countries, and ultimately enrolled in a university psychology program in Croatia.

Methods: A collaborative autoethnographic approach was employed to explore the student's experience as a war refugee, traversing Europe, and beginning university life in a foreign country. Data were collected through the student's reflective writing.

Medical interpreters play central roles in the care of patients with limited English proficiency, many of whom are vulnerable to challenges in care. Yet ethical tensions arise in the care of these patients, including tensions between translating with fidelity to spoken words versus ensuring understanding; supporting values of beneficence versus autonomy; reacting with passivity versus advocacy; and interacting with patients with neutrality versus compassion. These tensions reflect the commitment of interpreters featured in narratives to providing patient-centered care through challenging circumstances.

Introduction: The incurable and progressive nature of dementia requires complex care, the majority of which is provided via informal caring by family members within the family home. Carers experience significant stress absorbing the challenging care needs of their family member and require education and training that can support and sustain family caring arrangements while considering the psychological distress that threatens caring breakdown. The aim of this scoping review was to map the evidence of trauma-informed principles within education and practical skills training in dementia family caring.
