Development of a bacteria-nanosapper for the active delivery of ZIF-8 particles containing therapeutic genes for cancer immune therapy.

Acta Pharm Sin B

School of Pharmacy, Institute of Hepatology and Metabolic Diseases, Department of Hepatology, the Affiliated Hospital of Hangzhou Normal University, Hangzhou Normal University, Hangzhou 311121, China.

Specific tumor-targeted gene delivery remains an unsolved therapeutic issue due to aberrant vascularization in tumor microenvironment (TME). Some bacteria exhibit spontaneous chemotaxis toward the anaerobic and immune-suppressive TME, which makes them ideal natural vehicles for cancer gene therapy. Here, we conjugated ZIF-8 metal-organic frameworks encapsulating eukaryotic murine interleukin 2 () expression plasmid onto the surface of VNP20009, an attenuated strain with well-documented anti-cancer activity, and constructed a TME-targeted delivery system named /ZIF-8@.

Adult spinal deformity (ASD) with osteoporotic vertebral fractures (OVF) often requires vertebral body resection and replacement. However, postoperative mechanical complications (MC) have been unsolved issues. This study retrospectively investigated the risk of MC following anterior-posterior spinal fusion (APF) with vertebral body resection and replacement for OVF with ASD.

The development of healable polymers represents a significant advancement in materials science, addressing the need for sustainable solutions that can reduce waste and prolong the lifespan of various products. For the development of healable polymer fabrics, however, there are still unsolved issues because of limited healing cycles and poor mechanical properties. In this work, we present intrinsically healable materials for the creation of stretchable, healable fabrics.

Magic-NOVEL: Suppressing electron-electron coupling effects in pulsed DNP.

J Chem Phys

January 2025

Center for Quantum and Topological Systems, New York University Abu Dhabi, P.O. Box 129188, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Pulsed dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) enhances the nuclear magnetic resonance sensitivity by coherently transferring electron spin polarization to dipolar coupled nuclear spins. Recently, many new pulsed DNP techniques such as NOVEL, TOP, XiX, TPPM, and BEAM have been introduced. Despite significant progress, numerous challenges remain unsolved.

CMFX: Cross-modal fusion network for RGB-X crowd counting.

Neural Netw

December 2024

College of Computer Science and Engineering, Shandong University of Science and Technology, Qingdao 266590, China. Electronic address:

Currently, for obtaining more accurate counts, existing methods primarily utilize RGB images combined with features of complementary modality (X-modality) for counting. However, designing a model that can adapt to various sensors is still an unsolved issue due to the differences in features between different modalities. Therefore, this paper proposes a unified fusion framework called CMFX for RGB-X crowd counting.
