Introduction: The odds of metastatic disease at diagnosis of bone (BS) and soft-tissue sarcomas (STS) of the extremities and pelvis may vary among patients due to several factors. There is limited research comparing the rates of metastatic disease at diagnosis in patients from different demographic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Methods: Patients with a primary BS or STS of the extremity or pelvis were identified using International Classification of Diseases codes.

Background: Mirvetuximab Soravtansine (MIRV) is a promising antibody‒drug conjugate (ADC) that targets folate receptor alpha (FRα), which is overexpressed in several types of solid tumors. In November 2022, MIRV was approved in the USA for the treatment of adult patients with FRα-positive, platinum-resistant epithelial ovarian, fallopian tube or primary peritoneal cancer who received 1-3 prior systemic treatment regimens. Therefore, high-quality evidence for its efficacy and safety in different cancers is urgently needed.

Environmental contamination can have lasting impacts on surrounding communities, though the long-term impacts can be difficult to ascertain. The disaster at the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant in 1986 and subsequent remediation efforts resulted in contamination of the local environment with radioactive material, heavy metals, and additional environmental toxicants. Many of these are mutagenic in nature, and the full effect of these exposures on local flora and fauna has yet to be understood.
