Seasons have a major impact on the frequency and characteristics of burn injuries; in warmer months, thermal burns from outdoor activities are more common, while in cooler months, incidents involving heating sources and fires are more common. It is essential to comprehend these trends in order to customize safety precautions and awareness initiatives. Studies on the impact of seasonal variations help burn centers allocate resources more effectively in order to prepare for variations in patient volume and severity.

A novel programmable implantable neurostimulation platform based on photonic power transfer has been developed for various clinical applications with the main focus of being safe to use with MRI scanners. The wires usually conveying electrical current from the neurostimulator to the electrodes are replaced by optical fibers. Photovoltaic cells at the tip of the fibers convert laser light to biphasic electrical impulses together with feedback signals with 54% efficiency.

Background And Aim: Heat and heavy rain can have negative health impacts for people in Germany. Vulnerable groups in particular, such as children and the elderly, are at increased risk and require special precautions. This paper examines how employers of the municipal administration and facilitating organisations perceive the risk of heat and heavy rain for daycare centres and care facilities, and to what extent an exchange takes place between the municipal level and the facilities.
