During a demonstration of hypnotically induced anesthesia and following a suggestion for a Novocain-like numbness, a totally unanticipated and dramatic swelling of 1 cheek appeared. The participant had forgotten to inform the psychologist that she had experienced the identical reaction to Novocain when she received an injection a few weeks earlier. The swelling was quickly removed by a countersuggestion based upon a simulated injection of the antidote previously administered by the dentist. This case report is relevant to current research and theorizing on the interaction of hypnosis with the immune system. The fact that it was retrospectively recognized as a single-case time-series B-A-B design significantly enhances its scientific value beyond that afforded by the traditional case report.

Background: While recently identified heterozygous PRPF8 variants have been linked to various human diseases, their role in neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs) remains ambiguous. This study investigates the potential association between homozygous PRPF8 variants and NDDs. Most PRPF8 variants are primarily associated with retinal diseases; however, we analyze a family with multiple members diagnosed with NDDs.

Introduction: Aligners are presented as an aesthetic and simple solution capable of treating a wide range of malocclusions. However, they require numerous auxiliaries that are often complex to implement and unesthetic attachments to compensate for their inability in reproducing the simulated movements.
Objectives: The aim of this article is to review the advantages and limitations of aligners by proposing an aesthetic, rational, and standardized solution.
Background: Interfering RNA therapies (RNAi) have changed the management of patients with hyperoxaluria type 1 (PH1); data in dialysis remain scarce.
Results: A PH1 teenager undergoing intensive hemodiafiltration received lumasiran. POx levels almost halved during the loading phase (98 to 52 µmol/L), but rebound occurred when doses were quarterly-spaced, with POx at 94 µmol/L at 5 months.
Background: The development of immunotherapy has led to a paradigm shift in the treatment of malignant tumors. Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) function by blocking the receptors and ligands of T cells from binding one another, empowering them to target and attack cancer cells. ICIs along with other immunotherapy treatments, have seen a significant increase in usage in recent years.

Methods: Karyotype analysis and single nucleotide polymorphism array (SNP-array) were performed to detect copy number variations in fetal amniotic fluid and parental peripheral blood.
Results: Fetal karyotype showed 46, X?, del (4) (q28q31.
