The crystal structure of a triterpene component of Wyethia mollis has been obtained and compared with the previously reported structure of the compound. The compound in the crystal structure, lanosta-8,24-dien-3-one, 16,23-epoxy-(161beta, 23R), (1), is different from the previously reported compound, but has identical NMR and mass spectrometric data. The revised structure contains a tetrahydropyran E ring, a structural moiety rare in steroid triterpenes.

Five new non-holostane di- and trisulfated triterpene pentaosides, conicospermiumosides A-1 (), A-2 (), A-3 (), A-1 (), and A-2 () were isolated from the Far Eastern sea cucumber Levin et Stepanov (Cucumariidae, Dendrochirotida). Twelve known glycosides found earlier in other species were also obtained and identified. The structures of new compounds were established on the basis of extensive analysis of the 1D and 2D NMR spectra, as well as by the HR-ESI-MS data.

The processing of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) is a core theory within TCM, embodying deep philosophical, cultural, and natural scientific wisdom. Among the various techniques, the "synergistic processing of medicinal materials and excipients" has garnered significant attention due to its uniqueness. This study explored the impact of the adjuvant Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma on the dynamic process of component transformation during the processing of Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata using techniques such as acidic dye colorimetry, UPLC-Q-TOF-MS/MS, density functional theory(DFT), and molecular dynamics simulations(MDS).

Depression is one of the most common neurological diseases, which imposes a substantial social and economic burden on modern society. The purpose of this study was to explore the mechanism of total ginsenoside ginseng root (TGGR) in the treatment of depression through a comprehensive strategy combining network pharmacology, transcriptomics, and in vivo experimental validation. The Traditional Chinese Medicine Systematic Pharmacology (TCMSP) database and literature were used to collect the main components and targets of TGGR.

November 2024

National Key Laboratory for Tropical Crop Breeding, School of Breeding and Multiplication (Sanya Institute of Breeding and Multiplication), College of Tropical Agriculture and Forestry, Hainan University, Sanya 572025, China.

To characterize the nutrients and bioactive compounds in grape berries and to explore the real cause of the "French paradox" phenomenon, we performed metabolomic analysis of 66 grape varieties worldwide using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS). A nontargeted metabolomics approach detected a total of 4889 metabolite signals. From these, 964 bioactive and nutrient compounds were identified and quantified, including modified flavonoids, medicinal pentacyclic triterpenoids, vitamins, amino acids, lipids, etc.
