In this study, we proposed and demonstrated a novel simultaneous analysis system of biosensing by combining a semiconductor-based field effect transistor (FET) with quartz crystal microbalance with a dissipation (QCM-D) monitoring system. Using the combined system, the changes of not only mass and viscoelasticity but also electrical charge for interaction of charged dextran molecules with substrate, recognition of glucose with low molecular weight, and programmed cell death, apoptosis, were simultaneously and quantitatively monitored in a label-free and real-time manner. The combined system will give more detailed information of biomolecule/substrate interface for development of new biomaterial.

Understanding the behavior and fate of microplastics (MPs) in aquatic environment is crucial for assessing their potential risks. This study investigated the heteroaggregation behaviors of MPs with representative 2D nanosheets, MoS and graphene oxide (GO), under various conditions, focusing on the transport behavior of the resulting aggregates. It was found that the destabilization capabilities of 2D nanosheets are notably stronger than those of well-reported nanoparticles.

Although the Diels-Alder reaction (DA) has garnered significant attention due to its numerous advantages, its long reaction time is a drawback. Herein, we investigated the effects of polarity difference on DA using Layer-by-Layer (LbL) films comprising polycationic polyallylamine hydrochloride and polyanionic poly (styrenesulfonic acid-co-furfuryl methacrylate) [poly (SS--FMA)] as the reaction environment. First, furan composition in poly (SS--FMA) was adjusted to be 19 mol% to achieve good water solubility and layer deposition.

This work elucidated the digestion behavior of low-oil phase Pickering emulsion gel (LOPPEG) stabilized by whey protein isolate (WPI) -γ-Oryzanol (γO) aggregated particles and interfacial adsorption properties of its simulated digestion products. Initially, following simulated digestion, WPI-γO LOPPEG exhibited lower free fatty acid release and protein digestibility compared to WPI LOPPEG. WPI-γO LOPPEG maintained lower interfacial tension and higher interfacial thickness than WPI LOPPEG.

This work examined the effects of molecular weight (2-15 kDa) and concentration (10-30 mg/mL) of chitosan (CTS) on the binding capacity and interface behavior between octenyl succinic acid sodium starch (OSS) and CTS, as well as their effects on the storage stability of emulsions. The results of the isothermal calorimetry titration demonstrated that OSS and CTS were complexed by electrostatic interaction and spontaneous hydrogen bonding driven by enthalpy (ΔH from -3931 to -7983 cal/mol, ΔS from -38.5 to -49.

It is well known that metals and metal oxides with different crystal facets exhibit varying sensitivity in gas sensors, but this strategy is rarely used in metal-organic frameworks (MOFs). Herein, we proved for the first time that Cu metal-organic with high energy crystal facets (Cu-MOF-74-300) shows a much higher sensitivity than the low energy crystal facets (Cu-MOF-74-110), with a up to 2 times response more than Cu-MOF-74-110 and ultra-low limit of detection (LOD) of 68 ppb to toluene vapors. In addition, this strategy was further demonstrated on MOF-14 and HKUST-1, which are also Cu-centered and exhibit clear recognition effects on benzene and xylene, respectively.
