Ulcerative colitis (UC) can cause severe oxidative stress in the colon, which can lead to tissue damage and an imbalance in the normal gut microbiota. Ellagic acid (EA) is one of the main types of plant polyphenols with improved pharmacological effects such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties. However, currently, the studies on the impact of EA on the gut microbiota and its potential to alleviate UC in mice through the ROS/NLRP3 pathway are limited.

: Phyllanthus emblica is a medicinal and edible plant from the Euphorbiaceae family, notable for its rich content of polyphenols and flavonoids, which provide significant antioxidant properties. To exploit the full antioxidant potential of Phyllanthus emblica, this study developed a hydrogel system incorporating polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and carboxymethyl cellulose sodium (CMC-Na), integrated with Phyllanthus emblica extract, for the purpose of wound healing. : The extraction process of active ingredients of Phyllanthus emblica was optimized and assessed the antioxidant composition and activity of the extract.

The utilization of hydrogen in safety conditions is crucial for the development of a hydrogen-based economy. Among all methodologies, solid-state hydrogen release from ammonia borane through thermal stimuli is very promising due to the high theoretical hydrogen release. Generally, carbonaceous or inorganic matrices have been used to tune the reactivity of ammonia borane.

Background/objectives: Immune checkpoints are essential for regulating excessive autoimmune responses and maintaining immune homeostasis. However, in the tumor microenvironment, these checkpoints can lead to cytotoxic T cell exhaustion, allowing cancer cells to evade immune surveillance and promote tumor progression. The expression of programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) in cancer cells is associated with poor prognoses, reduced survival rates, and lower responses to therapies.
