A 29-year-old female with a history of relapsing polychondritis (RP) and open repair of a proximal descending thoracic aneurysm presented with 2 areas of asymptomatic thoracic aortic aneurysmal dilatation. The patient returned 3 months later with symptomatic aneurysm expansion, and she underwent ascending aortic arch replacement. She subsequently underwent staged endovascular repair of the distal descending thoracic aorta. RP is a rare disorder with an incidence of 3.5 per million persons annually, 4% to 7% of whom develop aneurysmal disease. Because of the aneurysmal potential of this disease, it is important for vascular surgeons to be aware of its presentation and treatment. To our knowledge, this is the first reported case describing endovascular technique to treat such a patient.

Background: Formation of local type aortic aneurysm years after surgical repair of coarctation (CoA) occurs in 10% of patients independent of the surgical technique and is a potentially life-threatening condition if left untreated with a high risk of aortic rupture. Redo open surgery is associated with 14% in-hospital mortality and a high risk of complications. Endovascular treatment appears to be a feasible alternative with a high success rate and low morbidity and mortality, but data concerning long-term results is still mandatory.

Interventional occlusion of Patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) is generally efficacious and complications such as delayed occluder displacement are infrequent. Herein, we report a case of 24-year-old female with a history of unsuccessful PDA closures, who subsequently experienced delayed occluder displacement into the left main pulmonary artery. Despite numerous unsuccessful catheter-based interventions, thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) was successfully executed.

Objective: This study aims to investigate the clinical application value of the central venous-arterial carbon dioxide partial pressure difference (Pv-aCO2) in postoperative cognitive dysfunction(POCD) in patients with acute aortic dissection.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on the general data of 236 patients. Blood gas samples were collected from the arterial and venous lines at various time points during the surgery, including before and after the initiation of cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB), immediately after CPB initiation, before and after deep hypothermic circulatory arrest, 30 min after rewarming, and 5 min before weaning from CPB.
