Immobilization of fractures with plaster of Paris is a mainstay of management of stable, nondisplaced fractures not requiring fixation. However, application techniques can be variable and are often ineffective after the patient is discharged because of weakness and wear of the plaster. This can lead to displacement of fractures and inadequate analgesia. We describe a simple, inexpensive, effective technique to ensure plaster strength and immobilization.

The study suggests a better multi-objective optimization method called 2-Archive Multi-Objective Cuckoo Search (MOCS2arc). It is then used to improve eight classical truss structures and six ZDT test functions. The optimization aims to minimize both mass and compliance simultaneously.

Vaginal reconstruction is necessary for various congenital and acquired conditions, including vaginal aplasia, trauma, tumors, and gender incongruency. Current surgical and non-surgical treatments often result in significant complications. Decellularized vaginal matrices (DVMs) from human tissue offer a promising alternative, but require effective sterilization to ensure safety and functionality.

Using Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), it is possible to show chemical composition of materials and / or profile chemical changes occurring in tissues, cells, and body fluids during onset and progression of diseases. For diagnostic application, the use of blood would be the most appropriate in biospectroscopy studies since, (i) it is easily accessible and, (ii) enables frequent analyses of biochemical changes occurring in pathological states. At present, different studies have investigated potential of serum, plasma and sputum being alternative biofluids for lung cancer detection using FTIR.

Accurate classification of logos is a challenging task in image recognition due to variations in logo size, orientation, and background complexity. Deep learning models, such as VGG16, have demonstrated promising results in handling such tasks. However, their performance is highly dependent on optimal hyperparameter settings, whose fine-tuning is both labor-intensive and time-consuming.
