An efficient entry into densely substituted fluorinated and perfluoroalkylated benzene derivatives via chemo- and regioselective Pd-catalyzed [4 + 2] cross-benzannulation is presented. The synthetic utility of these products for the synthesis of various aromatic and heteroaromatic compounds is also demonstrated. This strategy offers a viable and quite general alternative to existing fluorination and perfluoroalkylation methods for securing these valuable molecules.

Spinal cord injury (SCI) results in functional deficits below the injured spinal level. The descending serotonergic system in the spinal cord is critically involved in the control of motor and autonomic functions. Specifically, SCI damages the projections of serotonergic fibers, which leads to reduced serotonin inputs and increased amounts of spinal serotonergic receptors.

Introduction: Measurement of repeatability and reproducibility (R&R) is necessary to realize the full potential of positron emission tomography (PET). Several studies have evaluated the reproducibility of PET using 18F-FDG, the most common PET tracer used in oncology, but similar studies using other PET tracers are scarce. Even fewer assess agreement and R&R with statistical methods designed explicitly for the task.

We report the first case of myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody-associated disease (MOGAD) evaluated with hypoxic imaging using 18F-FAZA PET/CT. A healthy woman in her 20s presented to our hospital with seizures, headaches, and vomiting. MRI and CT scans suggested a wide range of differential diagnoses, from neoplastic lesions, such as malignant lymphoma, to inflammatory diseases, such as vasculitis, making her case challenging to diagnose.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFTrimethyltin chloride (TMT), an organotin compound with potent neurotoxicity, is widely used as a heat stabilizer for plastics. However, the precise pathogenic mechanism of TMT remains incompletely elucidated, and there persists a dearth of sensitive detection methodologies for early diagnosis of TMT. In this study, Sprague-Dawley rats were treated with 10 mg/kg TMT to simulate acute exposure in humans.

An efficient microwave-assisted synthesis route for novel oxazolidinone analogues has been developed. The general synthesis of these compounds began with an L-proline-mediated three-component Mannich reaction between commercially available 3-fluoro-4-morpholinoaniline, aqueous formaldehyde and α-hydroxyacetone. This was followed by a one-step cyclisation to form the core structure of oxazolidinone antibiotics which was subsequently derivatized.
