Unlabelled: Pile fermentation plays a crucial role in the formation of the unique flavor of Liupao tea, which can effectively reduce the bitterness of the tea and promote the formation of red tea soup. In this study, the non-volatiles changes of Liupao tea during pile fermentation processing were fully analyzed by UPLC-QTOF-MS/MS. A total of 271 metabolites with significant differences were identified in Liupao tea during pile fermentation( < 0.

Polysorbates, in particular polysorbate (PS) 20 and 80, are the most commonly used surfactants for stabilising biotherapeutics produced by biotechnological processes. PSs are derived from ethoxylated sorbitan (a derivative of sorbitol) esterified with fatty acids of varying chain length and degree of saturation. In the past, these surfactants have been reported to have specific liabilities.

Monitoring of genotoxic chemicals released into the water cycle or formed through transformation processes is critical to prevent harm to human health. The development of the high-performance thin-layer chromatography (HPTLC)-umu bioassay combines sample separation and detection of genotoxic substances in the low ng/L concentration range. In this study, raw, process, and drinking water samples from 11 different waterworks in Germany were analyzed using the HPTLC-umu.

As the occurrence of human diseases and conditions increase, questions continue to arise about their linkages to chemical exposure, especially for per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). Currently, many chemicals of concern have limited experimental information available for their use in analytical assessments. Here, we aim to increase this knowledge by providing the scientific community with multidimensional characteristics for 175 PFAS and their resulting 281 ion types.

The Baranyi and Geeraerd models are two of the most reliable models for the description of, respectively, microbial growth and inactivation. They are defined as a system of differential equations, whose algebraic solution can describe the microbial response during isothermal conditions, especially when combined with suitable secondary models. However, there are still large uncertainties regarding the best functions to use as secondary models for the lag phase duration (λ) and the shoulder length (S).
