Synthesis of some novel biologically active piperidin-4-one oxime carbonates from 1-methyl-3alkyl-2,6-diphenylpiperidin-4-one oximes and substituted chloroformates was carried out in the presence of potassium carbonate as base and tetrabutylammonium bromide (TBAB) as catalyst. The newly synthesized compounds were characterized by IR, (1)H, (13)C NMR and LC-mass spectra. Based on the (1)H NMR analysis, all the compounds were found to adopt normal chair conformation with equatorial orientation of all the substituents. For all the synthesized compounds (5a-5l) antimicrobial activity has been tested against bacterial and fungal strains using Streptomycin and Amphotericin B as standards.

Visible-Light-Induced Radical Carbon Oximation of Styrenes Using -Nitrosoamine and Organic Halides.

An efficient visible-light-induced radical carbon oximation of styrenes with 1-nitrosopyrrolidine and organic halides is developed. The reaction proceeds smoothly in the absence of a transition metal and a photocatalyst under mild conditions, producing a wide range of functionalized oximes in moderate to good yields. Mechanistic studies reveal that the reaction involves the generation of nucleophilic α-amino alkyl radicals and subsequent halogen atom transfer (XAT) with organic halides.

Cyclohexanone oxime, a critical precursor for nylon-6 production, is traditionally synthesized via the hydroxylamine method under industrial harsh conditions. Here is present a one-step electrochemical integrated approach for the efficient production of cyclohexanone oxime under ambient conditions. This approach employed the coupling of in situ electro-synthesized HO over a cobalt (Co)-based electrocatalyst with the titanium silicate-1 (TS-1) heterogeneous catalyst to achieve the cyclohexanone ammoximation process.

ConspectusIn the past decade, single-atom skeletal editing, which involves the precise insertion, deletion, or exchange of single atoms in the core skeleton of a molecule, has emerged as a promising synthetic strategy for the rapid construction or diversification of complex molecules without laborious synthetic processes. Among them, carbene-initiated skeletal editing is particularly appealing due to the ready availability and diverse reactivities of carbene species. The initial endeavors to modify the core skeleton of heteroarenes through carbon-atom insertion could date back to 1881, when Ciamician and Denstedt described the conversion of pyrroles to pyridines by trapping haloform-derived free carbene.

In this work, a series of novel Pterostilbene-oxime ether-carboxylic acid (POC) derivatives (d1-d10, e1-e10 and 1-13) were designed, synthesized, and characterized by spectroscopic techniques. In order to further determine the absolute configuration of these compounds, one of them, compound d3, was investigated by X-ray single crystal diffraction method. d3 had a triclinic crystal with P-1 space group, and its CHCH and CHN was confirmed as E configuration.
