Published: April 2013

In the title salt, C17H19N4 (+)·PF6 (-), the two pyridine rings of the cation are inclined to one another by 15.89 (8)°, and inclined to the imidazole ring by 65.05 (10) and 64.07 (10)°. In the crystal, the cations and anions are linked via a series of C-H⋯N and C-H⋯F hydrogen bonds, forming two-dimensional networks lying parallel to (001).

The thiol-ate nickel complexes {2-[({2-[(2-amino-ethyl-κ)(meth-yl)amino-κ]eth-yl}imino-κ)meth-yl]benzene-thiol-ato-κ}nickel(II) chloride, [Ni(CHNS)]Cl (), and [2-({[2-(piperazin-1-yl-κ , )eth-yl]imino-κ}meth-yl)benzene-thiol-ato-κ]nickel(II) hexa-fluoro-phosphate di-chloro-methane monosolvate, [Ni(CHNS)]PF·CHCl (), were synthesized by the reactions of 2-(-butyl-thio)-benzaldehyde, tri-amines, and nickel(II) salts. Both complexes have a nickel ion surrounded by an ,','',-tetra-dentate ligand, forming a square-planar geometry. The terminal ,-chelating moiety is ,-di-alkyl-ethane-1,2-di-amine for and 1-alkyl-piperazine for .

Department of Chemistry, University of Zurich, Winterthurerstrasse 190, CH-8057, Zurich, Switzerland.

The title compound, [Co(CHN)](PF)·HO, crystallizes with one tripositive complex mol-ecule, three hexa-fluoro-phosphate anions and one solvent mol-ecule of water in the asymmetric unit. The N coordination set around the central Co atom defines a distorted octa-hedral environment. Four fluorine atoms of one hexa-fluoro-phosphate anion are disordered over two sets of positions with site-occupancy factors of 0.

A novel dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction (DLLME) method using ionic liquids (ILs) followed by high-performance liquid chromatography-diode array detector (HPLC-DAD) has been devised to specify Atenolol, Atenolol, Metoprolol and Propranolol in blood real samples. Fourteen effective parameters in DLLME process, including pH of aqueous sample, volume of the dispersion and extraction solvents and ionic strength of donor phase, etc.; were screened using fractional factorial screening methodology (FFSM) based on Placket-Burman design (PBD) and subsequently were optimized by response surface methodology using central composite design (CCD).
