Importance: Skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) experienced high mortality during the COVID-19 pandemic, leading them to adopt preventive measures to counteract viral spread. A critical appraisal of these measures is essential to support SNFs in managing future infectious disease outbreaks.
Objective: To perform a scoping review of data and evidence on the use and effectiveness of preventive measures implemented from 2020 to 2024 to prevent COVID-19 infection in SNFs in the US.

This meta-analysis evaluated the analgesic efficacy of erector spinae plane block (ESPB) in metabolic surgery through analysis of ten randomized controlled trials (786 patients). ESPB demonstrated superior pain control compared to placebo from 2-12 h postoperatively, with peak effect at 6 h and sustained movement-related pain reduction through 24 h. ESPB showed comparable analgesic efficacy to other nerve blocks within 24 h postoperatively.

Background: Liver cirrhosis represents a critical stage of chronic liver disease, characterized by progressive liver damage, cellular dysfunction, and disrupted cell-to-cell interactions. Glycosylation, an essential post-translational modification, significantly influences cellular behavior and disease progression. Its role in cirrhosis at the single-cell level remains unclear, despite its importance.

Leukemia is one of the most common cancers in prepubertal girls and adolescents, with advances improving survival rates. However, treatments like chemotherapy and radiation are highly gonadotoxic, often causing ovarian insufficiency, early menopause, infertility, and endocrine disorders. Fertility preservation for young female cancer patients, especially prepubertal girls without mature germ cells, relies heavily on ovarian tissue cryopreservation.

Objectives: Wilson's disease (WD) is a rare autosomal recessive inherited disorder characterized by dysregulated copper metabolism, amenable to treatment with chelating agents. It manifests with hepatic and neurological symptoms, often precipitating the development of liver cirrhosis as a prominent complication. This study aims to elucidate the factors, biomarker alterations, and therapeutic modalities influencing the progression of cirrhosis in WD patients.
