MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are versatile regulators of gene expression in higher eukaryotes. In order to silence many different mRNAs in a precise manner, miRNA stability and efficacy is controlled by highly developed regulatory pathways and fine-tuning mechanisms both affecting miRNA processing and altering mature miRNA target specificity.

Background: Interventional therapy, currently, has become a major method for the clinical treatment of liver cancer patients. However, interventional therapy can also lead to various toxic side effects, and combined with the impact of the disease itself, liver cancer patients often experience more severe emotional distress. Improving individuals' levels of psychological distress tolerance may reduce sensitivity to negative life events and experiences.

Many biological markers of normal and disease states can be detected in saliva. The benefits of saliva collection for research include being non-invasive, ease of frequent sample collection, saving time, and being cost-effective. A small volume (≈1 mL) of saliva is enough for these analyses that can be collected in just a few minutes.

HIV causes intense polyclonal activation of B cells, resulting in increased numbers of spontaneously antibody-secreting cells in the circulation and hypergammaglobulinemia. It is accompanied by significant perturbations in various B cell subsets, such as increased frequencies of immature/transitional B cells, activated memory B cells, atypical memory B cells, short-lived plasmablasts and regulatory B cells, as well as by decreased frequencies of resting memory and resting naïve B cells. Furthermore, both memory and antigen-inexperienced naïve B cells show exhausted and immune-senescent phenotypes.

Flexible high-deflection strain gauges have been demonstrated to be cost-effective and accessible sensors for capturing human biomechanical deformations. However, the interpretation of these sensors is notably more complex compared to conventional strain gauges, particularly during dynamic motion. In addition to the non-linear viscoelastic behavior of the strain gauge material itself, the dynamic response of the sensors is even more difficult to capture due to spikes in the resistance during strain path changes.

Recent advances in emotion recognition through Artificial Intelligence (AI) have demonstrated potential applications in various fields (e.g., healthcare, advertising, and driving technology), with electroencephalogram (EEG)-based approaches demonstrating superior accuracy compared to facial or vocal methods due to their resistance to intentional manipulation.
