With the emerging complexities in chronic diseases and people's lifestyles, healthcare professionals (HCPs) need to update their methods to manage and educate patients with chronic lifestyle disorders, particularly diabetes. The insulin injection technique (IIT), along with various parameters, must also be updated with newer methods. Forum for Injection Technique and Therapy Expert Recommendations (FITTER), India, has updated its recommendations to cover newer ways of detecting hypoglycaemia and lipohypertrophy, preventing needlestick injuries (NSIs), discouraging the reuse of insulin needles and encouraging good disposal.

The stopping power of liquid water was measured for carbon ions with energies in the Bragg peak region using the inverted Doppler shift attenuation method. Among the semiempirical data, the results of this work agree best with the data recommended in the Errata and Addendum of ICRU Report No. 73, which is based on an I value of 78 eV for water.

Recent work on G-protein coupled receptors (GPCRs) has highlighted the importance of homo- and heterodimerization in all areas of GPCR function, including trafficking, signaling and desensitization. Novel GPCR dimers and even high-order oligomers are constantly being discovered. Advances in techniques such as fluorescent microscopy have improved our ability to detect these interactions.

The cognitive effects of the most commonly used antiepileptic drugs (AEDs) are reviewed, discussing both the absolute effects (the effects compared to no treatment) and the relative effects (the comparison of one AED with an other). The cognitive profile per AED is given, based on a literature database, consisting of 1,357 articles in peer review journals. Available information on the newer AEDs is discussed as an addendum.
