In this paper we present a technique that can be used to study the effect of absorption and coherent interference in the luminescence of multilayer structures. We apply the technique to the measured photoluminescence and electroluminescence spectra of MIS capacitors where the insulator is composed of a silicon rich oxide (SRO)/silicon rich nitride (SRN) bilayer structure. We remove the effect of the multilayer stack on the measured photoluminescence spectrum of the samples without the metal contact to find the intrinsic spectrum. Then we apply the effect of the MIS structure on the intrinsic spectrum in order to calculate the electroluminescence spectrum. Good agreement with the experimentally measured EL spectrum is found. We discuss which parameters affect the spectra most significantly.

Purpose: To study choroidal thickness (CT) and luminal areas of choroidal vessels in the setting of fovea-off rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD).

Methods: Twenty-seven eyes with RRD were prospectively studied before and after pars plana vitrectomy and SF6 tamponade, using swept-source optical coherence tomography (SS-OCT). CT was measured pre- and postoperatively both subfoveally and in attached macular areas.

The behavior of triple-cation mixed halide perovskite solar cells (PSCs) under ultrashort laser pulse irradiation at varying fluences is investigated, with a focus on local heating effects observed in femtosecond transient absorption (TA) studies. The carrier cooling time constant is found to increase from 230 fs at 2 µJ cm⁻ to 1.3 ps at 2 mJ cm⁻ while the charge population decay accelerates from tens of nanoseconds to the picosecond range within the same fluence range.

Using time as an additional design parameter in electromagnetism, photonics, and wave physics is attracting considerable research interest, motivated by the possibility to explore physical phenomena and engineering opportunities beyond the limits of time-invariant systems. Here, we report the experimental demonstration of enhanced broadband absorption of electromagnetic waves in a continuously modulated time-varying system, exceeding one of the key theoretical limits of linear time-invariant absorbers. This is achieved by harnessing the frequency-wave vector transitions and enhanced interference effects enabled by breaking both continuous space- and time-translation symmetries in a periodically time-modulated absorbing structure operating at radio frequencies.

We outline two general theoretical techniques to simulate polariton quantum dynamics and optical spectra under the collective coupling regimes described by a Holstein-Tavis-Cummings (HTC) model Hamiltonian. The first one takes advantage of sparsity of the HTC Hamiltonian, which allows one to reduce the cost of acting polariton Hamiltonian onto a state vector to the linear order of the number of states, instead of the quadratic order. The second one is applying the well-known Chebyshev series expansion approach for quantum dynamics propagation and to simulate the polariton dynamics in the HTC system; this approach allows us to use a much larger time step for propagation and only requires a few recursive operations of the polariton Hamiltonian acting on state vectors.

Controlled quantum teleportation is an important extension of multipartite quantum teleportation, which plays an indispensable role in building quantum networks. Compared with discrete variable counterparts, continuous variable controlled quantum teleportation can generate entanglement deterministically and exhibit higher superiority of the supervisor's authority. Here, we define a measure to quantify the control power in continuous variable controlled quantum teleportation via Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger-type entangled coherent state channels.
