98 wheet samples harvested in 1998 from three different experimental plots in saxony where investigated on the species of fusarium and the mycotoxins DON, ZEA and nivalenol (NIV). Analysis of DON was done by fast-Elisa-test and HPLC-MS. There was a good correlation between the two methods but a tendency of higher values determined by Elisa. NIV was also determined by HPLC-MS and ZEA by HPLC-fluorescence.

The conversion of a person's intentions into device commands through the use of brain-computer interface (BCI) is a feasible communication method for individuals with nervous system disorders. While common spatial pattern (CSP) is commonly used for feature extraction in BCIs, it has limitations. It is known for its susceptibility to noise and tendency to overfit.

Purpose Of Review: To share current concepts and provide an overview of the contextual issues and nutrition practices in critically ill patients in resource-limited settings (RLSs)/low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Most of the world's population reside in these settings which also carries the greatest burden of critical illness.

Recent Findings: There is a paucity of evidence on nutrition practice in critically ill patients in RLSs and international guidelines are largely based on evidence derived from high-income countries (HICs).

Aim: To validate the prognostic value of the PAncreatic NeoAdjuvant MAssachusetts (PANAMA)-score and to determine its predictive ability for survival benefit derived from adjuvant treatment in patients after resection of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) following neoadjuvant FOLFIRINOX.

Background: The PANAMA-score was developed to guide prognostication in patients after neoadjuvant therapy and resection for PDAC. As this score focuses on the risk for residual disease after resection, it might also be able to select patients who benefit from adjuvant after neoadjuvant therapy.

Objective: To assess the research productivity, career advancement, grant funding, and scholarly impact of international medical graduates (IMGs) in academic cardiothoracic surgery.

Summary Background Data: Physician shortages undermine patient care and risk exacerbating inequities, especially in cardiothoracic surgery, which may lose a quarter of its workforce by 2050-the most substantial reduction in surgery. IMGs could help alleviate these shortages, but there is limited data about their academic experiences.

December 2024

Department of Anesthesiology, Critical Care and Pain Medicine, UTHealth, Houston, Texas, USA.

Background: Previous studies have shown that hypertonic saline nasal irrigation and gargling reduced the duration of symptoms in upper respiratory infections caused by coronavirus. This study aims to investigate the effects of two saline regimens on symptoms associated with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2).

Methods: Between 2020 and 2022, individuals aged 18-65 years who tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 infection via polymerase chain reaction (PCR) were randomly assigned to either low- or high-saline regimens for 14 days.
