Quercetin granules and gel were used to provide local protection in 64 ENT-cancer patients given radiotherapy. The highest effect was obtained as a result of a combined (per os and topical) application of quercetin throughout the entire radiotherapy course. The use of quercetin granules to treat acute radiation-induced epithelitis was effective and allowed radiotherapy to be completed.

Object: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a prevalent and currently incurable autoimmune disease. Existing conventional medical treatments are limited in their efficacy, prolonged disease may lead to bone destruction, joint deformity, and loss of related functions, which places a huge burden on RA patients and their families. For millennia, the use of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), exemplified by the Gui-Zhi-Shao-Yao-Zhi-Mu decoction (GZSYZM), has been demonstrated to offer distinct therapeutic advantages in the management of RA.

Background: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) imposes a significant global health and socioeconomic burden. Exacerbations of COPD (ECOPD), characterized by heightened airway inflammation and mucus hypersecretion, adversely affect patient health and accelerate disease progression. Qingke Pingchuan (QKPC) granules, a formulation from Traditional Chinese Medicine initially prescribed for acute bronchitis, have shown unexplored potential in ECOPD management, with mechanisms of action yet to be clarified.

Background: Aging is a pressing global concern and is frequently accompanied by the emergence of many chronic diseases. Xiyangshen Sanqi Danshen granules (XSD) have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-fatigue functions, but the mechanism of their anti-aging effects is not clear.
Methods: This study elucidated the anti-aging mechanism and potentially active ingredients of XSD by performing transcriptomic analysis and network pharmacological analysis in a D-galactose (D-gal)-induced C57BL/6J mouse aging model.

Two novel membranes based on collagen and two polyphenols, taxifolin pentaglutarate (TfG5) and a conjugate of taxifolin with glyoxylic acid (DfTf), were prepared. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy examination confirmed the preservation of the triple helical structure of collagen. A scanning electron microscopy study showed that both materials had a porous structure.

Collaborative Innovation Center for Chinese Medicine and Respiratory Diseases Co-constructed by Henan Province & Ministry of Education, Henan Key Laboratory of Chinese Medicine for Respiratory Disease, Henan University of Chinese Medicine, Zhengzhou 450046, China.
Objective: To investigate the inhibitory effect of Granules (TSG) on macrophage-mediated inflammatory response to alleviate acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD) in rats and explore the underlying mechanism.
Methods: Twenty-four rats were divided into control group, AECOPD model group, TSG treatment group, and moxifloxacin+salbutamol (MXF+STL) treatment group. In the rat models of COPD, AECOPD was induced by nasal instillation of on day 3 of week 9 after modeling, and saline, TSG or MXF+STL were administered via gavage on days 1 and 2 and days 4 to 7 of week 9.
