We demonstrate a dual pulse-shaper setup capable of independent polarization, phase, and amplitude control over each pulse. By using active phase stabilization, we achieve a phase stability of ~λ/314 between the two pulse shapers, making the dual-shaper setup suitable for both two-quantum and one-quantum measurements. The setup is compact and easily switchable between pump-probe and collinear geometries. We further illustrate the functionality of the dual-shaper setup by performing two-color 2D visible spectroscopy on colloidal CdSe quantum dots in pump-probe geometry.

Space division multiplexing (SDM) with Hermite Gaussian (HG) modes, for instance, can significantly boost the transmission link capacity. However, SDM is not suitable in existing single mode fiber networks, and in long-distance wireless, microwave, THz or optical links, the far-field beam distribution may present a problem. Recently it has been demonstrated, that time domain HG modes can be employed to enhance the link capacity.

Label-free imaging through two-photon autofluorescence of NAD(P)H allows for nondestructive, high-resolution visualization of cellular activities in living systems. However, its application to thick tissues has been restricted by its limited penetration depth within 300 μm, largely due to light scattering. Here, we demonstrate that the imaging depth for NAD(P)H can be extended to more than 700 μm in living engineered human multicellular microtissues by adopting multimode fiber-based, low repetition rate, high peak power, three-photon excitation of NAD(P)H at 1100 nm.

This paper examines the challenges of machining structural alloy steels for carburizing, with a particular focus on gear manufacturing. TiN-Ti coatings were applied to cutting tool blades to improve machining quality and tool life. The research, supported by mathematical modeling, demonstrated that these coatings significantly reduce adhesive wear and improve blade life.

Magnetic pulse spot welding based on a field shaper can effectively achieve spot welding of dissimilar metal plates by using the multi-turn flat coil and magnetic gathering through the field shaper. Through existing experimental research, it has been found that when using this method for welding, there will be a serious bulging problem in the center of the welding area, which will affect the flatness and aesthetics of the welding area, thereby affecting its application range. To solve this problem, this work proposes two different welding methods for welding dissimilar AA1060 aluminum and SS304 steel plates with a thickness of 1 mm: one based on the center opening of the flying plate and the other based on the pre-deformation of the flying plate.

It consists of a Yb-doped nonlinear polarization evolution (NPE) mode-locked fiber oscillator, a chirped fiber Bragg grating (CFBG) stretcher, a wave-shaper for manipulating the spectrum of the signal, cascaded fiber amplifiers, and two compression units. The output pulse duration of 44 fs for efficient high harmonic generation (HHG) was achieved by a multi-pass multi-plate Herriott-type non-linear compression unit.
