Pyridinylazolato (N-N') ruthenium(II) complexes of the type [(N-N')RuCl(PMe3)3] have been obtained in high yields by treating the corresponding functionalised azolylpyridines with [RuCl2 (PMe3)4] in the presence of a base. (15)N NMR spectroscopy was used to elucidate the electronic influence of the substituents attached to the azolyl ring. The findings are in agreement with slight differences in the bond lengths of the ruthenium complexes. Furthermore, the electronic nature of the azolate moiety modulates the catalytic activity of the ruthenium complexes in the hydrogenation of carbon dioxide under supercritical conditions and in the transfer hydrogenation of acetophenone. DFT calculations were performed to shed light on the mechanism of the hydrogenation of carbon dioxide and to clarify the impact of the electronic nature of the pyridinylazolate ligands.

Developing high-energy-density lithium-sulfur batteries faces serious polysulfide shuttle effects and sluggish conversion kinetics, often necessitating the excessive use of electrolytes, which in turn adversely affects battery performance. Our study introduces a meticulously designed electrocatalyst, Cu-CeO@N/C, to enhance lean-electrolyte lithium-sulfur battery performance. This catalyst, featuring in situ synthesized Cu clusters, regulates oxygen vacancies in CeO and forms Cu-CeO heterojunctions, thereby diminishing sulfur conversion barriers and hastening reaction kinetics through the generation of S/S intermediates.

Atomically Dispersed FeMo Dual Sites for Enhanced Electrocatalytic Nitrogen Reduction.

ACS Appl Mater Interfaces

State Key Laboratory of Fine Chemicals, Research and Development Center of Membrane Science and Technology, School of Chemical Engineering, Dalian University of Technology, Dalian 116024, China.

The electrocatalytic nitrogen reduction reaction (eNRR) is an attractive strategy for the green and distributed production of ammonia (NH); however, it suffers from weak N adsorption and a high energy barrier of hydrogenation. Atomically dispersed metal dual-site catalysts with an optimized electronic structure and exceptional catalytic activity are expected to be competent for knotty hydrogenation reactions including the eNRR. Inspired by the bimetallic FeMo cofactor in biological nitrogenase, herein, an atomically dispersed FeMo dual site anchored in nitrogen-doped carbon is proposed to induce a favorable electronic structure and binding energy.

Objectives: To evaluate the effect of intravesical alkalinised lidocaine as an anaesthetic treatment on procedural pain during intradetrusor onabotulinumtoxinA (BTX-A) injections for overactive bladder.

Patients And Methods: This single-centre, randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled two period crossover trial was conducted on women scheduled for BTX-A injections at our outpatient urogynaecology clinic between September 2022 and May 2024. Patients were randomly assigned (1:1) to receive either alkalinised lidocaine or placebo during the first treatment period.

We report nonadiabatic dynamics computations on CH initiated on a coherent superposition of the five lowest cationic states, employing the Quantum Ehrenfest method. In addition to the totally symmetric carbon-carbon double bond stretch and carbon-hydrogen stretches, we see that the three non-totally symmetric modes become stimulated; torsion and three different CH stretching patterns. Thus, a coherent superposition of states, of the type involved in an attochemistry experiment, leads to the stimulation of specific non-totally symmetric motions.

This study aims to shed light on the mechanism and kinetics of 1,4-dioxane degradation by hydroxyl radical (OH) across various solvation conditions to evaluate electronic and structural properties at the MP2/aug-cc-pVTZ level. Transition states (TS) structures determined in the gas phase and SMD solvation model reveal similar hydrogen abstraction patterns. In contrast, the explicit solvation model (ES) introduces significant changes, suggesting a kinetic preference for axial pathways.
