Tubular colonic duplications are rare malformations and its association with prostatorectal fistula is extremely rare with only one case reported to date. We report the successful management of an 8 year old child with communicating tubular colonic duplication with prostatorectal fistulae. Tubular colonic duplications may be difficult to diagnose due to varied presentations, therefore a high degree of suspicion should be present while managing children with isolated congenital recto urinary fistulas.

Background: Many studies have reported the renal outcomes and metabolic consequences after augmentation cystoplasty (AC), however few studies have discussed changes in renal tubular function. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of metabolic disturbances, evaluate renal tubular function and 24-hour urine chemistry to evaluate the association between metabolic alterations and urolithiasis after AC.
Methods: We investigated serum biochemistry, blood gas, and 24-hour urinary metabolic profile of children who underwent AC between January 2000 and December 2020.
Background And Aims: The 2020 United States Multi-Society Task Force on Colorectal Cancer guidelines for surveillance after colonoscopy with polypectomy introduced significant changes in surveillance intervals. We sought to identify rates of adherence to these new guidelines at an academic medical center.
Methods: Average-risk screening colonoscopies where 1 to 4 polyps <10 mm were removed between January 1, 2020, and June 30, 2021 were included.

Epigenetic clocks can quantify DNA methylation by measuring the methylation levels at specific sites in the genome, which correlate with biological age (BA). Accelerated aging, where BA exceeds chronologic age, has been studied in relation to cancer development, but its utility in cancer prevention remains unclear. Accelerated aging holds promise as a tool to explain the increase in early-onset colorectal cancer (EOCRC).
