The dynamics of the expansion of the first order spatial coherence g(1) for a polariton system in a high-Q GaAs microcavity was investigated on the basis of Young's double slit experiment under 3 ps pulse excitation at the conditions of polariton Bose-Einstein condensation. It was found that in the process of condensate formation the coherence expands with a constant velocity of about 10(8)  cm/s. The measured coherence is smaller than that in a thermal equilibrium system during the growth of condensate density and well exceeds it at the end of condensate decay. The onset of spatial coherence is governed by polariton relaxation while condensate amplitude and phase fluctuations are not suppressed.

The current study aimed to detect the mutagenic impacts of aflatoxin B1 (AFB1), which is produced by Aspergillus group fungi, via a high-plant genotoxicity test. Different durations of treatment (3 h, 6 h, and 12 h) were used to treat the Vicia faba root tips with varying concentrations of Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) following the approved protocol for plant assays published by the International Program on Chemical Safety (IPCS) and the World Health Organization (WHO). The data obtained indicated that AFB1 not only has the ability to induce various alterations in the process of mitosis, ranging from increasing to decreasing mitotic and phase indices but also leads to many mitotic aberrations.

In a quest to innovate biologically active molecules, the benzoylation of 4,6-dimethylpyrimidine-2-thiol hydrochloride (1) with benzoyl chloride derivatives was employed to produce a series of pyrimidine benzothioate derivatives (2-5). Subsequent sulfoxidation of these derivatives (2-5) using hydrogen peroxide and glacial acetic acid yielded a diverse array of pyrimidine sulfonyl methanone derivatives (6-9). In parallel, the sulfoxidation of pyrimidine sulfonothioates (10-12) yielded sulfonyl sulfonyl pyrimidines (13-15), originating from the condensation of compound 1 with sulfonyl chloride derivatives.

Cooperative condensation of RNA-DIRECTED DNA METHYLATION 16 splicing isoforms enhances heat tolerance in Arabidopsis.

Dissecting the mechanisms underlying heat tolerance is important for understanding how plants acclimate to heat stress. Here, we identify a heat-responsive gene in Arabidopsis thaliana, RNA-DIRECTED DNA METHYLATION 16 (RDM16), which encodes a pre-mRNA splicing factor. Knockout mutants of RDM16 are hypersensitive to heat stress, which is associated with impaired splicing of the mRNAs of 18 out of 20 HEAT SHOCK TRANSCRIPTION FACTOR (HSF) genes.

The development of versatile strategies for preparing functional carbon materials is essential for advancing a wide range of applications in materials science. Precursor design plays a pivotal role in governing the chemistry and structure of carbon materials for target applications. In this work, we report the synthesis of Meldrum's acid derivatives through Knoevenagel condensation with aromatic heterocycles such as pyrrole, furan, and thiophene, which serve as precursors for carbonaceous materials with tailored chemical and electronic properties.
