Hyperparathyroidism Jaw Tumour Syndrome (HPT-JT) is a rare autosomal dominant disorder within the familial hyperparathyroidism group. Individuals with the disorder carry a gene mutation that predisposes them to early-onset primary hyperparathyroidism, ossifying jaw tumours, renal cystic disease, uterine tumours and parathyroid carcinomas. We present a case of a 41-year-old man referred to nephrology clinic with haemoproteinuria who was noted to have the constellation of renal cystic disease, personal and family history of hyperparathyroidism and recent jaw tumour excision.

Background: Anxiety disorders in older adults have become a prominent public health problem due to their concomitant chronic conditions, reduced quality of life and even death. However, fewer studies have been conducted on differences in anxiety among older individuals in different aged-care models, and the interactive relationship between the influencing factors on anxiety remains unclear. The study aimed to examine the disparities in the prevalence of anxiety between community-dwelling and institutionalized older adults and related influencing factors.

Background: Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), which is a neuromodulation therapy for psychiatric disorders, is not widely used in Norway. We aimed to investigate whether doctors in mental health care are familiar with and interested in the method, as well as the reasons for its limited use and the key factors required for its implementation.

Material And Method: An anonymous electronic survey questionnaire was distributed to all active members of the Norwegian Psychiatric Association in the autumn of 2022 (n = 1979), consisting of 484 specialty registrars and 1495 specialists.

Background: Manual compartment palpation is used as a component of the clinical diagnosis of acute compartment syndrome (ACS), particularly in obtunded patients. However, its utility and accuracy in the upper limb are unknown. The purposes of this study were to assess the accuracy of manual compartment palpation of ACS in the forearm in a cadaveric model and to assess the role of clinician experience in this setting.
