In four Southern African countries where the HIV prevalence rate is among the highest in the world, 46.4% of a sample of female adolescents infected with HIV report having never engaged in sex. This would indicate either the dominance of non-sexual modes of HIV transmission or rampant misreporting of sexual behavior in the sample. We propose a method to estimate the extent of misreporting and calculate that the true percentages of virgins among the sample of HIV-infected adolescent women is 32.1%. After accounting for misreporting, the contribution of sexual modes of HIV transmission is projected as 50.4%, compared with an estimate of 35.5% if we assume no misreporting.

National Family Health Survey (NFHS) has played a pivotal role in formulating policies and programs by providing nationally representative data on a wide range of monitoring and impact evaluation indicators in population, health and nutrition. However, due to measurement errors resulting in misreporting, the collection of accurate data on sensitive issues in sample surveys has always been a matter of concern. This study examines the fieldworker effect on the reporting of physical, sexual, and emotional Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) using fifth round of NFHS (2019-21) data in India.

We aimed to estimate age-standardised mortality by racial-ethnic group, county, and cause of death and describe the intersection between racial-ethnic and place-based disparities in mortality in the USA, comparing patterns across health conditions.
Methods: We applied small-area estimation models to death certificate data from the US National Vital Statistics system and population data from the US National Center for Health Statistics to estimate mortality by age, sex, county, and racial-ethnic group annually from 2000 to 2019 for 19 broad causes of death.

Background: In most low-income and middle-income countries (LMICs), national surveys are the main data source for stillbirths and perinatal mortality. Data quality issues such as under-reporting and misreporting have greatly limited the usefulness of such data. We aimed to enhance the use of mortality data in surveys by proposing data quality metrics and exploring adjustment procedures to obtain the best possible measure of perinatal mortality.

Furthermore, although the holotype was never lost, its location has been misreported in one important taxonomic reference, leading to further confusion. We report the correct repository of the holotype (Natural History Museum, London), together with its current catalog number.

Adolescents in the child welfare system have been exposed to multiple forms of victimization, most notably sexual victimization, many times underreported and misreported. The main aim of this study was to explore the lifetime prevalence of sexual victimization among adolescents in residential care in Eastern Spain, contrasting self-reported information compared to the information reported by the professionals. Sexual abuse/assault characteristics and effects of gender and age were analyzed.
