The stomatal phenotype is a crucial microscopic characteristic of the leaf surface, and modulating the stomata of maize leaves can enhance photosynthetic carbon assimilation and water use efficiency, thereby playing a vital role in maize yield formation. The evolving imaging and image processing technologies offer effective tools for precise analysis of stomatal phenotypes. This study employed Jingnongke 728 and its parental inbred to capture stomatal images from various leaf positions and abaxial surfaces during key reproductive stages using rapid scanning electron microscopy.

The synthesis of high-performance catalysts for volatile organic compounds (VOCs) degradation under humid conditions is essential for their practical industrial application. Herein, a codoping strategy was adopted to synthesize the N-CoO-C catalyst with N, C codoping for low-temperature ethyl acetate (EA) degradation under humid conditions. Results showed that N-CoO-C exhibited great catalytic activity ( = 177 °C) and water resistance (5.

Many studies have displayed that freeze-thaw (F/T) conditioning is an environmentally friendly approach of improving sludge dewaterability. However, Initial water content (IWC) has a strong influence on the efficiency of the F/T method in conditioning sludge dewatering performance. Finding the most suitable F/T parameters for sludge with different IWCs is a critical issue that needs to be solved.

This paper reports a novel method for simultaneous extraction and in situ separation of flavonoids and alkaloids from mulberry leaves using a pH-responsive deep eutectic solvent (DES)/water system. Five novel DESs were synthesized, and isoquercitrin and deoxynojirimycin were respectively selected as the representative compounds of flavonoids and alkaloids to evaluate the extraction and separation efficiency. The optimal DES, namely [HexA (hexanoic acid)][MPD (2-methyl-2,4-pentanediol)], was identified, and the extraction and in situ separation conditions were optimized.

The accumulation of phosphorus (P) in soil profiles of intensive cropland and the losses caused by runoff and leaching have been widely concerned. However, the loss of soil P due to shallow groundwater table (SGT) fluctuations driven by seasonal changes is often neglected, and the migration and transformation mechanisms of soil P are still unclear. On the basis of the long-term monitoring of cropland soil P accumulation and SGT fluctuations around Erhai Lake, the characteristics of soil P loss driven by SGT fluctuations and the corresponding mechanisms were investigated through a 260-day microcosm experiment.
