Purpose: The Healthy Eating Index-Canada 2015 (HEI-C 2015), Diet Quality Index-International (DQI-I), and Healthy Eating Food Index 2019 (HEFI-2019) are commonly used to summarize the quality of Canadian diets. This paper sought to compare these three diet quality indices with respect to their ability to capture diets of different quality in Canadian children and to discriminate between population subgroups.

Methods: Data were collected in school-based surveys from grade 4-6 students (9-12 years old) in western Canada through 24-h dietary recall in 2016 ( = 336), 2018 ( = 454), and 2020/2021 ( = 909).

The spectre of human-induced climate change has drawn attention to the need to discover new, environmentally sustainable approaches to healthcare. This article draws upon David McPherson's The Virtues of Limits (2021) to develop a virtue ethics for sustainability in healthcare. I explore how a virtuous appreciation of the value of healthcare resources can lead us to exercise stewardship in our use of those resources, whereas a failure to appreciate the value of resources can lead to irresponsible and unsustainable patterns of use.

Understanding the pathways through which geopolitical risks affect the ecological footprint is crucial for achieving ecological sustainability goals. Even though the effect of oil price shocks on macroeconomics has been extensively investigated, the literature on how efficiency in household energy use affect crude oil price volatility is yet explored. This study unveils whether household energy efficiency lower crude oil price volatility asymmetrically in the United States using the historical and forecast dataset that spans from 1970:Q1-2040:Q1. Applying the multivariate case of Quantile-on-Quantile Regression, the empirical results show that household energy efficiency dampens crude oil price volatility with a stronger connection in quantiles before the median quantiles of crude oil price volatility.
