AI Article Synopsis

  • The retrograde approach with collaterals offers a method for treating chronic total occlusions in coronary arteries through percutaneous dilatation.
  • The controlled antegrade and retrograde tracking (CART) technique enhances the effectiveness of guidewires in navigating these blockages for successful recanalization.
  • A specific case is presented where a left anterior descending artery occlusion was effectively treated using an ipsilateral intraseptal collateral with the reverse CART method.

Article Abstract

The retrograde approach using collaterals has been introduced for percutaneous dilatation and opening of chronic total occlusion of the coronary arteries. The controlled antegrade and retrograde tracking (CART) strategy has been developed to improve guidewire crossing and successful recanalization. We herein describe a case of left anterior descending chronic total occlusion that was successfully recanalized using ipsilateral intraseptal collateral by reverse CART technique.

Introduction: Hypertension is among the most significant non-communicable public health issues worldwide. High blood pressure, or hypertension, has been associated with severe health consequences, including death, aneurysms, stroke, chronic renal disease, eye damage, heart attack, heart failure, peripheral artery disease, and vascular dementia. Consequently, this study aimed to investigate the predictors linked to survival time and the progression of blood pressure measurements in hypertensive patients.

Background: NSAIDs are commonly used as first line therapy in chronic nonbacterial osteomyelitis (CNO) but are not effective for all patients. The objective of this study was to identify clinical variables associated with NSAID monotherapy response versus requiring second-line medication in a single-center cohort of patients with CNO.

Methods: The charts of children with CNO who attended a CNO clinic at a quaternary care center between 1/1/05 and 7/31/21 were retrospectively reviewed.

Background: Adult people with cystic fibrosis (PwCF) have a higher risk of end-stage kidney disease than the general population. The nature and mechanism of kidney disease in CF are unknown. This study quantifies urinary kidney injury markers and examines the hypothesis that neutrophil activation and lung infection are associated with early kidney injury in CF.
