Published: April 1990

The grain diameters of the silveramalgam powder "Homodent--1" lie in the range between 2 microns and 250 microns. According to their dimensions the grains don't form groups. The shape of the grains is irregular, it does not look like either the spherical or the mechanically disintegrated fillings. On the surface of one group of grains particularly course porosity is observable. Shape and size of the grains of the "Goodfill" alloy are uniform, all grains have prismathic shape their thickness (40-50 microns) is approximately equal to their width, their length amounts to 100-300 microns. The surface of the grains is regular, porosity is not or hardly observable.
