Aims: Our goal is to perform a meta-analysis to investigate the risk of periodontitis associated with specific dietary patterns.
Methods: We employed the PRISMA methodology in a meta-analysis to examine the correlation between dietary patterns and the risk of periodontitis. We systematically searched three online databases from inception to November 2024 to identify relevant studies.

Neuroinflammation plays a critical role in Alzheimer's (AD) and Parkinson's diseases (PD) onset, pathophysiology, and progression. The aim of our meta-analysis was to review the available literature to assess the role of neuroinflammation in the pathogenesis of the two most common neurological diseases: Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease. Two medical databases were searched: Web of Science and PubMed in the period from 2009-2023, where a total of 37 publications that met the inclusion criteria were selected for further evaluation.

Background: Mediterranean diets may reduce Alzheimer's disease (AD) risk and preserve cognitive function relative to Western diets by protecting against inflammation. In a long term controlled randomized trial of Mediterranean vs. Western diet consumption in cynomolgus macaques (Macaca fascicularis), difficult to conduct in humans, we found significant anti-inflammatory effects of Mediterranean diet on circulating monocyte and brain temporal cortex transcriptional profiles.

Background: Ischemic stroke (IS) is a risk factor for developing Alzheimer's disease (AD). In this context, microglial activation is a shared cellular response to these two conditions that can be either beneficial or detrimental. Previous research has established that mesenchymal stem cell-derived extracellular vesicles (MSC-EVs) treatment leads to enhanced functional recovery and reduced brain infarct volume in animal IS models.

Introduction: Dl-3-n-butylphthalide (NBP), a small molecular compound extracted from celery seeds, has been shown to exhibit diverse pharmacological activities, including anti-inflammatory, antioxidative, and anti-apoptotic effects. Recent studies have highlighted its efficacy in treating various cardiovascular conditions, such as myocardial infarction, hypertrophy, heart failure, and cardiotoxicity. This study aimed to investigate whether NBP could alleviate cardiac dysfunction and injury following hemorrhage-induced cardiac arrest (HCA) in a porcine model and elucidate its potential mechanisms.
