Five years ago, a 44 year-old woman presented with an apparently localized cancer of the right breast, initially treated by surgery, adjuvant chemotherapy and radiotherapy. After a 4 year disease-free interval, she developed bi-temporal hemianopsy, due to a suprasellar tumor causing compression of the optic chiasma. The tumor was resected by the transsphenoidal route and histological examination revealed neuroendocrine characteristics described as "argyrophilic breast carcinoma". The exceptional association of this peculiar histology for breast cancer with a rare pattern of recurrence (single pituitary metastasis) is worthwhile reporting.

Objectives: To assess argyrophilic nucleolar organizer regions (AgNORs) in 60 patients with primary breast carcinoma and evaluated their association with clinical prognostic parameters of breast cancer.
Methods: Argyrophilic nucleolar organizer regions were stained in paraffin sections of the tissues using Ploton's silver method. For each sample, the number of AgNORs within the nuclei of 100 tumor cells was counted.

In present study, it was purposed to determine the in vitro effect of the extract obtained from the pomegranate ( L.) peel on the breast cancer cell line. MDA-MB-231 cells were exposed to pomegranate peel extract (PoPx) at 37 °C and 5% CO for varying durations (24 and 48 h) and doses (25 and 50 μg/mL).

Aims And Objectives: Various grades of breast carcinoma and proliferative indices used as nuclear protein Ki-67 and argyrophilic nucleolar organizer regions (AgNOR) are being compared to each other.
Materials And Method: In this observational cross-sectional investigation, 42 breast biopsies from questionable breast areas were collected and preserved in formalin and paraffin before the tissue blocks were made. A thorough medical history regarding the breast tumor and thorough physical examination results were recorded.

Biotransformation of ent-kaur-16-en-19-oic acid using fungus Cunninghamella echinulata resulted in two novel hydroxylated metabolites together with five known compounds. Their structures were elucidated by means of extensive NMR and HR-ESI-MS data analysis. The eight compounds were measured for their cytotoxicity against the human breast carcinoma (MCF-7) and human hepatoblastoma (HepG-2) cell lines.

For this reason, a long-term analysis was carried out in regard to overall survival by means of automated microscopic image analysis of the nucleolar organizer regions (AgNORs) to objectify tumour grading in the case of breast carcinoma. This consists of a selective representation of argyrophilic proteins that are associated with the nucleolus organising regions.
