Dedifferentiation is a process that may be found in metastasis from the neuroendocrine tumors. We present the case of a female within the seventh decade of life incidentally diagnosed with a mature teratoma with element of cartilages, bronchia, mucinous glands, and a poorly differentiated neuroendocrine carcinoma (Ki67 of 30%). After six months of chemotherapy and another six months of disease free interval, a metastasis of the great omentum was removed. The dedifferentiation was diagnosed based on much higher Ki67 (of 70%). The loss of estrogen receptor of 40% from the initial site to 3% into metastasis indicates an exclusive neuroendocrine aggressive pattern. The ovarian carcinoid is a rare situation, and metastasis to the great omentum with dedifferentiation is even seldom.

Metastases to the pituitary gland are a rare finding, with breast and lung being the most common metastases in this anatomical region. Pituitary melanoma metastases reports are thus sparse, and both diagnosis and treatment are challenging. We present the case of a 66-year-old woman with pituitary melanoma metastasis who presented with symptoms of anterior pituitary dysfunction and headache.

Osteosarcoma is an aggressive bone malignancy with a high propensity for drug resistance and metastasis, leading to poor clinical outcomes. This study investigates the role of core 1 β1,3-galactosyltransferase 1 (C1GALT1) in osteosarcoma, focusing on its implications in chemoresistance. Our findings reveal that high expression of C1GALT1 is associated with advanced stages, adverse overall survival, and increased recurrence rates.

Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers worldwide, 30-50 % of patients with advanced breast cancer develop brain metastasis, causing severe damage to their life quality. Due to the existence of the blood-brain barrier (BBB), brain lesions were recognized to be a unique microenvironment with limited infiltration of circulating immune cells and drugs. However, emerging studies reported the immunology of the brain tumor microenvironment (TME) and indicated the potential of immunotherapy against brain metastases.

Reactive oxygen species with evoked immunotherapy holds tremendous promise for cancer treatment but has limitations due to its dependence on exogenous excitation and/or endogenous HO and O. Here we report a versatile oxidizing pentavalent bismuth(V) nanoplatform (NaBiO-PEG) can generate reactive oxygen species in an excitation-free and HO- and O-independent manner. Upon exposure to the tumor microenvironment, NaBiO-PEG undergoes continuous H-accelerated hydrolysis with •OH and O generation through electron transfer-mediated Bi-to-Bi conversion and lattice oxygen transformation.

Osteosarcoma is a malignant bone tumor originating from mesenchymal tissue. Recent studies have found that the tumor inflammatory microenvironment plays an important role in promoting the malignant characteristics and metastatic potential of malignant tumors. Pyroptosis, an inflammatory programmed cell death, elicits immune responses that exhibit anti-tumor effects through released factors and contents.
