Aims: Limited studies have been conducted on juvenile conjunctival nevus (JCN) in Asian populations. This study aims to investigate the clinical and pathologic characteristics of JCN cases among the Han ethnicity in northwest China, providing insights for pathologists and ophthalmologists in diagnosing this condition.
Methods: A subset of conjunctival nevi in children and adolescents, characterized by a confluent growth pattern and lack of maturation, was identified and defined as JCN.
Background: Mitosis maintains a genome's genetic information in daughter cells by accurately segregating chromosomes. However, chromosome aberrations are common during early mammalian embryogenesis. Chromosomal abnormalities during the early stages of embryogenesis result in the formation of mosaic embryos, wherein cells with normal genomes coexist with cells exhibiting abnormal genomes.

Hirschsprung disease (HSCR) is the most common congenital motility disorder of the intestine, characterized by the absence of ganglion cells in the myenteric and submucosal plexuses, leading to functional bowel obstruction. Short-segment Hirschsprung disease (SS-HSCR) accounts for the majority of cases, with surgical resection being the cornerstone of treatment. Despite advances in surgical techniques, considerable variability exists in practice regarding the timing of surgery, the choice of technique, and the length of aganglionic rectal cuff to resect.

Background: Zika (ZIKV) is a virus transmitted by mosquitoes that can cause Guillain- Barré syndrome and congenital malformations like microcephaly. Given its explosive resurgence and the resulting epidemics in 2016, the search for effective antiviral drugs has become absolutely necessary.
Methods: In this study, we examined the potential of naphthoquinone derivatives that have a sulfonamide or sulfonate group to inhibit ZIKV replication in primary cultured neurons and in Vero cells.

Fragment based novel drug identification and its validation through use of molecular dynamics and simulations.Comparing primary microcephaly genes with glioblastoma expression profiles reveals potential oncogenes, with proteins that support growth and survival in neural stem/progenitor cells likely retaining critical roles in glioblastoma. Identifying such proteins in familial and congenital microcephalic disorders offers promising targets for brain tumor therapy.
