Euglycemic Diabetic ketoacidosis (E-DKA) is a life-threatening emergency characterized by ketonemia and metabolic acidosis in presence of relatively normal glycemic values. In recent years it has been associated with some predisposing conditions including sodium-glucose transporter 2 inhibitors (SGLT2-i) therapy, widely used in high-risk cardiovascular patients. We report the case of a 78-year-old diabetic woman treated with dapagliflozin, affected by critical limb threatening ischemia and septic osteoarthritis of interphalangeal joint of first right toe.

Nerve aberrations and vascular lesions in the distal lower limbs are the etiological factors for diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs). This study aimed to understand the regulatory mechanism of angiogenesis in patients with DFU by examining lncRNA, as well as to explore effective targets for diagnosing and treating DFU. The serum levels of A1BG-AS1 and miR-214-3p and the predictive power of A1BG-AS1 for DFU were determined by quantitative PCR and ROC analysis.

This study applies the Gaussian process progression model, a Bayesian data-driven disease progression model, to analyse the evolution of primary progressive multiple sclerosis. Utilizing data from 1521 primary progressive multiple sclerosis participants collected within the International Progressive Multiple Sclerosis Alliance Project, the analysis includes 18 581 longitudinal time-points (average follow-up time: 28.2 months) of disability assessments including the expanded disability status scale, symbol digit modalities, timed 25-foot-walk, 9-hole-peg test and of MRI metrics such as T1 and T2 lesion volume and normalized brain volume.

Background: The optimal treatment of Osteochondral lesion of the talus (OLT) for subchondral bone cysts (SBCs) has not been finalized. The purpose of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to define whether OLT with small SBCs will affect the clinical outcomes of OLTs after arthroscopic microfracture.
Methods: We searched the Embase, Cochrane Library and PubMed databases up to May 13, 2024 for eligible comparative studies.
Background: Diabetes is one of the non-communicable diseases that represents the greatest public health challenge in sub-Saharan Africa, where diabetes related needs are currently largely unmet, and the debilitating aspects of the foot are worsened by issues related to healthcare costs, self-care practices, and inadequate knowledge. To estimate the pooled prevalence and associated factors of diabetic foot ulcers among patients with Diabetes mellitus, we conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis. Although studies on, diabetic foot ulcer among patients with diabetes mellitus have been available, the results have been inconsistent.
