Preduodenal portal vein (PDPV) is a rare congenital vascular malformation, which was first described by Knight in 1921 as an anomalous vein that lies in front of the duodenum, common bile duct, and hepatic artery instead of beneath them. This abnormal position may result in congenital duodenal obstruction and puts it in danger during operations around this region. PDPV is typically associated with other congenital anomalies, mainly intraabdominal and cardiac ones.

This study is envisioned to assess the structural changes the muscles undergo beneath the submucosal tissues and whether these changes necessitate a novel strategy from the existing conventional modality in the treatment of oral submucous fibrosis (OSMF) medically through a systematic literature survey. Literature search was performed electronically using Medline, EMBASE and CENTRAL databases to identify published literature until the end of April 2024 in dental, oral and maxillofacial surgery, plastic surgery and otolaryngology journals containing the terms "oral submucous fibrosis", "muscles of mastication", "muscles of facial expression", "histopathologic study", "ultrasonographic study", "CT", "MRI" in either their titles, abstracts, and keywords with only English being the preferred language. The data was extracted from the selected articles and prudently studied to gather and compile the data.

Yet, beneath this medical triumph lies an under investigated challenge of the potential teratological and toxicological impacts associated with the use of antibiotics. In the present study, we have explored the teratogenic potential of five commonly used antibiotics (streptomycin, metronidazole, tigecycline, doxycycline and norfloxacin) on Oregon-R strain.

Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) has evolved from a mere concern into a significant global threat, with profound implications for public health, healthcare systems, and the global economy. Since the introduction of antibiotics between 1945 and 1963, their widespread and often indiscriminate use in human medicine, agriculture, and animal husbandry has led to the emergence and rapid spread of antibiotic-resistant genes. Bacteria have developed sophisticated mechanisms to evade the effects of antibiotics, including drug uptake limitation, drug degradation, target modification, efflux pumps, biofilm formation, and outer membrane vesicles production.

Incidental identification of foreign body (FB) during daily screening endoscopy is not rare. The patients may have unspecific symptoms and do not report a history of FB ingestion at presentation. Although these FBs mostly pass through the gastrointestinal tract uneventfully, a certain proportion could be impacted and cause complications.
