Purpose: This study evaluates differences in the visual field performance when wearing the Defocus Incorporated Multiple Segments (DIMS) spectacle lens compared to wearing a conventional single vision (SV) spectacle lens.

Methods: Twenty-one children aged 9-14 years with spherical equivalent refraction (SER) between -1.13D to -4.

Background: Intrastromal corneal ring segments are commonly implanted in the corneas of eyes with mild-to-moderate keratoconus; however, changes in corneal densitometry (CD) after implantation are a matter of debate in the current literature. We evaluated the changes in CD 1 and 3 months after femtosecond laser-assisted Keraring implantation.

Methods: This retrospective, non-comparative, multicenter, case series study included patients with keratoconus who underwent femtosecond laser-assisted implantation of double segments with 90° and 160° arc lengths or two 160° arc length Keraring segments.

Article Synopsis
  • A 13-year-old Chinese girl developed panuveitis after receiving a PD-1 inhibitor (sintilimab) for her cancer treatment, which included sarcoma with pulmonary metastasis.
  • She exhibited various eye conditions, and thorough tests were conducted to rule out other causes of her eye issues.
  • After stopping the PD-1 inhibitor and treating her with corticosteroids, her vision improved, leading to a diagnosis of PD-1 inhibitor induced panuveitis and highlighting the need for careful monitoring in patients on similar treatments.

Characterization of the Canine Retinal Vasculature With Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography: Comparisons With Histology and Fluorescein Angiography.

Front Neuroanat

December 2021

Division of Experimental Retinal Therapies, Department of Clinical Sciences & Advanced Medicine, School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA, United States.

To present a methodology for quantification of the canine retinal vasculature imaged by optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) and validate this approach by comparison with fluorescein angiography (FA) and confocal imaging of retinal wholemounts labelled by immunohistochemistry (IHC). Six normal adult dogs underwent retinal OCTA imaging in both eyes. The images extracted from the different microvascular plexuses at eight retinal locations spanning the central and mid-peripheral fundus were analyzed using the AngioTool software.
