Objectives: Tanshinone IIA (Tan IIA) exhibits therapeutic potential for atherosclerosis (AS) and hepatic steatosis (HS). The study aims to explore the mechanisms underlying the anti-atherosclerosis and anti-hepatic steatosis effects of Tan IIA.

Methods: The LDLRmice were divided into control, model, low/high Tan IIA and atorvastatin group, which fed with High-fat diet to build NAFLD-associated AS model, then administrated with 0.

Epimedium brevicornum Maxim alleviates diabetes osteoporosis by regulating AGE-RAGE signaling pathway.

Mol Med

March 2025

Collaborative Innovation Center of Yangtze River Delta Region Green Pharmaceuticals, Zhejiang University of Technology, Hangzhou, Zhejiang, 310014, China.

Objectives: Epimedium brevicornum Maxim (EP) has a history of utilization in Chinese traditional medicine for the treatment of bone diseases. However, the precise mechanism by which EP extract (EPE) operates in Diabetes osteoporosis (DOP) remains ambiguous. The study was aimed to explore the effects and underlying mechanisms of EPE on DOP, with particular emphasis on the AGE-RAGE pathway.

Myocardial infarction (MI) compromises the cardiac microvascular endothelial barrier, increasing leakage and inflammation. HIF2α, predominantly expressed in cardiac endothelial cells during ischemia, has an unclear role in barrier function during MI. Here, we show that inducible, adult endothelial-specific deletion of Hif2α in mice leads to increased mortality, cardiac leakage, inflammation, reduced heart function, and adverse remodeling after MI.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the mechanism whereby ionizing radiation improves anti-programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1)/programmed cell death 1 ligand 1 (PD-L1) immunotherapy for esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC).

Methods: The protein levels of interleukin 6 (IL-6), signal transducer, and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3), and PD-L1 in human ESCC specimens and histologically normal tissues were analyzed by western blot. The effects of radiation exposure on PD-L1, STAT3, and IL-6 were determined in three esophageal cancer (EC) cell lines.

This study aims to evaluate the effects of α-Bisabolol in the treatment of psoriasis both in vivo and in vitro, and to elucidate its mechanism of action. We used network pharmacology to explore the potential active components and targets of α-Bisabolol in the treatment of psoriasis. Psoriasis-like models were induced in mice or keratinocytes using imiquimod (IMQ) or tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α).
