Unlabelled: Epistaxis is one of the most prevalent emergencies in ENT practice, and its surgical treatment is part of the routine at services for emergency care, especially in cases refractory to clinical procedures.
Objective: To analyze the profile of patients and the results this service has had in the surgical treatment of epistaxis for the last 11 years.
Method: Data from 98 patients submitted to surgery for epistaxis between 2000 and 2011 were analyzed retrospectively.
Results: Most in the sample were males, and mean age was around 46 years. Hypertension was identified in 58% of patients, and most events occurred during fall and winter. The re-bleeding rate was 13.27%.
Conclusion: This study concluded that the surgical treatment for epistaxis, when indicated, had good success rates and low incidence of complications. In our service, it remains as the gold-standard procedure for nosebleeds refractory to initial management measures.

Endometriosis and adenomyosis are debilitating gynecological conditions that severely affect the quality of life of women. Traditional diagnostic and treatment methods, including laparoscopic surgery and hormonal therapy, face significant limitations such as incomplete lesion detection, high recurrence rates, and adverse side effects. Emerging bioengineering technologies offer promising solutions for precise diagnosis and therapy of these diseases.

Colorectal cancer is a leading cause of cancer-related morbidity and mortality worldwide, with more than 1.9 million new cases reported in 2020, and is associated with major survival challenges, particularly in patients with locally advanced colon cancer (LACC). LACC often involves T4 invasion or extensive nodal involvement and requires a multidisciplinary approach for management.

Introduction: Subcutaneous panniculitis-like T-cell lymphoma (SPTCL) is a rare subtype of non-Hodgkin lymphoma with a good prognosis, but the optimal treatment for relapsed/refractory (R/R) SPTCL has been rarely discussed.
Methods: This study aims to compare the efficacy of conventional chemotherapy and chemo-free immunomodulatory regimen for R/R SPTCL. We retrospectively reviewed the patients with first relapse or primary refractory SPTCL between September 1997 and October 2020.

This study explores a novel therapeutic strategy for relapsed/refractory (R/R) Burkitt lymphoma (BL) by integrating autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (ASCT) with tandem anti-CD19/CD22 chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapy. A 20-year-old Asian male with refractory BL, whose lymphoma had not responded to multiple chemoimmunotherapy regimens, received myeloablative ASCT followed three days later by infusion of a novel third-generation CAR T cells engineered with CD28 and CD3ζ signaling domains, along with a TLR2 costimulatory domain. This resulted in sustained complete remission at the 306-day follow-up, without experiencing any severe complications.

Chronic postoperative pain after breast surgery is a significant concern, with studies indicating varying rates depending on the type of surgical procedure. The risk of developing neuropathic pain is notably increased with axillary lymph node dissection due to potential nerve injuries. Additionally, the method of breast reconstruction may influence postsurgical pain rates, with conflicting findings on the impact of reconstruction type.
