Four novel terephthaloyl thiourea chitosan (TTU-chitosan) hydrogels were synthesized via a cross-linking reaction of chitosan with different concentrations of terephthaloyl diisothiocyanate. Their structures were investigated by elemental analyses, FTIR, SEM and X-ray diffraction. The antimicrobial activities of the hydrogels against three species of bacteria (Bacillis subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli) and three crop-threatening pathogenic fungi (Aspergillus fumigatus, Geotrichum candidum and Candida albicans) are much higher than that of the parent chitosan. The hydrogels were more potent in case of Gram-positive bacteria than Gram-negative bacteria. Increasing the degree of cross-linking in the hydrogels resulted in a stronger antimicrobial activity.

Hydrogels based on natural polymers have lightened the path of novel drug delivery systems, wound healing, and tissue engineering fields because they are renewable, non-toxic, biocompatible, and biodegradable. Furthermore, applying modified hydrogels can upgrade their biological activity. Herein, Chitosan (CS) was used to create a hydrogel using terephthaloyl thiourea as a cross-linker.

Diacylhydrazine is thermally and chemically stable, and it remains inert to oxygen even at high temperatures. However, it is rapidly oxidized by sodium hypochlorite, leading to its decomposition into carboxylic acid and nitrogen gas. In the synthesis of a novel poly(diacylhydrazine) as an oxidatively degradable polymer, L-leucine methyl ester is acylated by terephthaloyl chloride.

Introduction: Benzothiazolamine-based bisthiourea precursors were prepared in good yields. These bisthiourea derivatives were cyclized into symmetrical Bis Methyl 2-[3-(benzothiazol- 2-yl)-2-terephthaloyl-bis-4-oxo-thiazolidin-5-ylidene]acetates, by their condensation with (DMAD) dimethyl but-2-meditate in the presence of dry methanol.
Materials And Methods: All these compounds were evaluated for their biological applications.

In this research, novel, organic, solid-liquid phase-change materials (PCMs) derived from methoxy polyethylene glycol (MPEG) and aromatic acyl chlorides (ACs) were prepared through a condensation reaction. The MPEGs were used as phase-change functional chains with different molecular weights (350, 550, 750, 2000, and 5000 g/mol). The aromatic ACs, terephthaloyl chloride (TPC) and isophthaloyl chloride (IPC), were employed as bulky linker cores.

This work represents a biocompatible magnetic nanobiocomposite prepared by the composition of chitosan (CS) hydrogel, silk fibroin (SF), graphene oxide (GO), and FeO NPs. Terephthaloyl thiourea was applied as a cross-linking agent to cross-link the CS strings. The CS hydrogel/SF/GO/FeO nanobiocomposite with many characteristics, such as high structural uniformity, thermal stability, biocompatibility, and stability in an aqueous solution.
