In this study, aqueous enzymatic process (AEP) assisted by microwave extraction (ME) of oil from yellow horn (Xanthoceras sorbifolia Bunge.) seed kernel was investigated. Central composite design (CCD) and response surface methodology (RSM) were used to optimise an enzyme cocktail (cellulase, hemicellulase, pectinase) for AEP. The main factors of ME were also studied. A maximal oil extraction yield of 55.8% was achieved under optimal conditions. Moreover, scanning electron microscope (SEM) was applied to characterise the extraction process. Analysing chemical composition of the extracted oil by GC-MS showed that the content of unsaturated fatty acids by this emerging method (91.18%) was similar to that by conventional organic solvent extraction (88.76%). In addition, the main physicochemical properties and antioxidant activities of yellow horn oil were measured to evaluate its quality. The present research supported necessary data for the green extraction method of edible oil in food industry.

The taxonomy of the pill millipede genus Verhoeff, 1906, which is restricted to Indochina and currently comprises six described species, is refined and updated. An integrative taxonomic approach was employed that combines morphological examination with DNA barcoding using the cytochrome oxidase subunit I (COI) gene for species identification and delineation. The first objective was to confirm the identity of (Pocock, 1889), a charismatic species known as the "candy pill millipede" due to its vivid coloration, based on specimens collected near the type locality in Myanmar.

Background And Justification: The Republic of Djibouti is located in the Horn of Africa, on the Gulf of Aden and the Bab-el-Mandeb detroit, at the southern entrance to the Red Sea. Prior to its independence in 1977, the Republic of Djibouti was known by two names: "Côte française des Somalis" until 1967, then "Territoire Français de Afars et Issas". As part of our doctoral research on the ecology of mosquitoes in Djibouti, we noted a lack of information on the species encountered, and felt it essential to draw up a list of species before embarking on ecological monitoring.

Pododermatitis aseptica hemorrhagica circumscripta is associated with metalloproteinase 2 weakening of distal phalangeal suspensory structures and sinkage of the distal phalanx in the claw capsule. Pressure from the tuberculum flexorium on the sole epidermis and dermis produces hemorrhagic tissue injury and defective horn production appearing as yellow-red, softened claw horn in region 4 of the sole. A model of the MAPK/ERK signal cascade orchestrating epidermal-dermal homeostasis was employed to determine if sterile inflammatory responses are linked to disturbed signal transduction for epidermal homeostasis in sole epidermis and dermis.
