We pay tribute to the seminal paper 'A microtubule in plant cell fine structure' by Myron C. Ledbetter and Keith R. Porter (1963) by summarizing the very limited knowledge of plant cell ultrastructure that we had prior to that publication, and, by way of our three retrospective accounts, show how this paper stimulated and influenced subsequent research on plant microtubules. Micrographs of historical interest are presented that are either previously unpublished or from primary publications.

As the vital the biomacromolecule in eukaryotic cells, tubulin protein is essential for preserving cell shape, facilitating cell division, and cell viability. Tubulin has been approved as promising target for anticancer, and antifungal therapy. However, there are still many gaps in tubulin-targeted fungicidal discovery.

Leaf is the main photosynthetic organ at the seedling stage of rapeseed and leaf size is a crucial agronomic trait affecting rapeseed yield. Understanding the genetic mechanisms underlying leaf size is therefore important for rapeseed breeding. In this study, QTL mapping for three traits related to leaf size, i.

This study aims to investigate the effect of Linggui Zhugan Decoction(LGZGD) on autophagy in the mouse model of chronic heart failure(CHF) induced by myocardial infarction(MI), as well as the regulatory effect of LGZGD on the hypoxia-inducible factor-1α(HIF-1α)/heme oxygenase-1(HO-1) signaling pathway, based on bioinformatics and animal experiments. The active ingredients and corresponding targets of LGZGD were retrieved from the Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology and Analysis Database, and GEO, GeneCards, and DisGeNET were searched for the disease targets. Cytoscape was used to establish a "drug-component-target" network.

Rice plants are important food crops that are sensitive to cold stress. Microtubules (MTs) are highly associated with plant response to cold stress. The exogenous application of abscisic acid (ABA) can transiently induce the cold stability of microtubules.
