Surgical repair of lamellar shortening must treat the anterior and posterior shortening, plus the scarring between Mueller's muscle, capsulopalpebral fascia, and periosteum. We describe a repair method in which a full-thickness, free skin graft is used to correct the anterior lamellar defect, and a homologous scleral graft is used to correct the posterior defect. Vascular support for the two free grafts is provided by a bipedicular orbicularis muscle flap.

Purpose: Radiotherapy (RT)/cetuximab (C) demonstrated superiority over RT alone for locally advanced squamous head and neck cancer. We tested this in completely resected, intermediate-risk cancer.

Methods: Patients had squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck (SCCHN) of the oral cavity, oropharynx, or larynx, with one or more risk factors warranting postoperative RT.

Skin regeneration, repair, and the promotion of hair growth are intricate and dynamic processes essential for preserving the overall health, functionality, and appearance of both skin and hair. These processes involve a coordinated interplay of cellular activities and molecular signaling pathways that ensure the maintenance and restoration of skin integrity and hair vitality. Recent advancements in regenerative medicine have underscored the significant role of mesenchymal stem cell (MSC)-derived exosomes as key mediators in these processes.

VACCIMEL is a therapeutic cancer vaccine composed of four irradiated allogeneic human melanoma cell lines rationally selected to cover a wide range of melanoma tumor-associated antigens (TAA). We previously demonstrated that vaccination in the adjuvant setting prolonged the distant-metastasis-free survival of cutaneous melanoma patients and that T cells reactive to TAA and the patient's private neoantigens increased during treatment. However, immune responses directed to vaccine antigens that may arise from VACCIMEL's somatic mutations and human polymorphisms remain unexplored.

Background: The main technique for identification of free flap perforator vessels is Doppler sonography, which is not always accurate, user dependent and affected by the patient's body habitus.

Methods: Adult patients undergoing head and neck resection and free flap reconstruction at two academic institutions were enrolled. Doppler sonography was used to identify perforators, and were marked using a skin marker.
