In recent years advances in medical electronic equipment for monitoring, diagnosis and treatment of patients have led to a large increase in the number and variety of instrumentation available to the medical profession. There is a considerable amount of duplication of equipment and in the absence of readily available information buyers are unlikely to make informed decisions about the ideal instrument for their particular circumstances. One method of increasing the users' awareness is a comparative, independent assessment of equipment, with the results disseminated to the interested parties. This paper describes the essential qualities of cardiotocographs: how they are assessed as part of the UK Department of Health's evaluation programme and the measures to inform users of the latest evaluation information.

Objective: New guidelines for the interpretation of cardiotocography (CTG) have been presented by FIGO in 2015 (FIGO-15) and by NICE in 2017 (NICE-17) and 2022 (NICE-22) In Sweden, a previous template from 2009 (SWE-09) was replaced in 2017 (SWE-17).The objective of the study was to compare these five different templates for CTG classification regarding sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive values in identifying neonates with acidemia at birth (cord artery pH <7.10).

Objectives: Combined Apgar score includes utilization of interventions such as ontinuous positive airway pressure, xygen, ask and Bag ventilation ntubation and ventilation onatal chest compression, rugs, and newborn assessment. It has been proposed as a substitute for conventional Apgar score which is the gold standard for evaluating newborns right after birth but is impacted by medical interventions and preterm. Combined Apgar scores were examined to check for correlation with CTG tracing and umbilical cord blood parameters which gives an objective assessment of fetal hypoxia, in response to the demand for a more accurate tool for evaluating the neonate and to be used for medico-legal purposes.

Labor is described as one of the most painful events women can experience through their lives, and labor pain shows unique features and rhythmic fluctuations. The present study aims to evaluate virtual reality (VR) analgesic interventions for active labor with biofeedback-based VR technologies synchronized to uterine activity. We developed a VR system modeled on uterine contractions by connecting it to cardiotocographic equipment.

Following the development of the Royal Australian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists Intrapartum Fetal Surveillance Guideline in 2003, an education program was developed to support guideline implementation and clinical practice. It was intended that improved clinician knowledge, particularly of cardiotocography, would reduce rates of intrapartum fetal morbidity and mortality. The program contains a multiple-choice assessment, designed to assess fetal surveillance knowledge and the application of that knowledge.
